MY EXPEDITION IN FORENSIC SCIENCE
Introduction:
Dear
Readers, Presently I am working as a Joint Director in A. P. Forensic Science
Laboratory. Embarking on my career as a Scientific Assistant at the
Forensic Science Laboratory in 1993, little did I know that this path would
lead me to incredible achievements and accolades. Today, I proudly share my
story, enriched by a Gold Medal in M.Sc. (Chemistry) and M.Sc. (Psychology), an M.Ed., a PGDCA, and a PGDFDR. This blog post delves into my captivating journey,
filled with remarkable experiences and a deep passion for unraveling the
truth.
In
1998, I was entrusted with the First Officer In charge position for the newly
established CLUES Team in the Police department of CCS, Hyderabad City Police.
As the State In-charge for all 26 CLUES teams in undivided Andhra Pradesh, I embraced
the tremendous responsibility of investigating crime scenes. My career led me
to explore over 8600 crime scenes, not only within the Telugu states but also
across various regions of India. Providing crucial testimony in more than three
thousand criminal and civil cases has been an integral part of my impactful
work.
Awards and Recognition:
My unwavering commitment to the field of forensic science has garnered six esteemed national awards, honoring my contributions. These accolades celebrated my exceptional performance in collecting physical evidence, reconstructing crime scenes, and analysing bomber signatures in explosive cases. One cherished memory was the prestigious National Level Meritorious Award in Forensic Science, bestowed upon me in Gujarat in 2006 by the Directorate of Forensic Science, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Additionally, I received four other National Awards at All India Forensic Science conferences held in Kolkata, Gujarat, Jaipur, and Aurangabad from 2007 to 2010.
First National Award: (Meritorious Award )
Meritorious Award Received from DFS, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi in 2006 At Gujarat From Gujarat Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for Meritorious Services in Crime Scene Investigation in recognition of outstanding contributions made in the field of “Crime Scene Management and Forensic Science Support to Investigating Officers” and for attending more than 6000 crime scenes and the clues collected in solving the Bomb Blast case of “Attack on Ex. CM Shri N.Chandra Babu Naidu with Claymore Mines” at Alpiri, at Tirumala ghat road.
Second National Award:
Received from DFS, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi at All India Forensic Science Conference-2007 held at Kolkata for Best Paper in Crime Scene Management for identifying the bomber signature with Physical Evidence collected in “Human Bomb attack on Task Force Office Blast” Case.
Third National Award:
Received from DFS, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi in All India Forensic Science Conference-2008 held at Gujarat from Shri Ashok Bhai, Speaker, Gujarat for Best Paper in Crime Scene Management “A Comparison study of Twin blast case (Lumbini Gokhul chat) with Macca Masjid Blast Case” and for Diffusion of live bomb found in Macca Masjid in saving of huge mass of Namazies.

Sixth National Award: (Union Home Minister’s Medal)
“Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Police Training “For best Indore Faculty, A P Police Academy -24 Nov 2018 from the Honorable Governor of AP Shri Narasimhan in AP DGP office.
Acknowledging Excellence:
In
2018, a moment of profound humility arrived when I was bestowed with the Union
Home Minister Medal by the BPR&D. This esteemed recognition acknowledged my
outstanding services as an Indoor Faculty Member at the A.P. Police Academy,
affirming my dedication and teaching prowess. My journey has been adorned with
numerous commendations, including Good Service Entries, Meritorious Service
Entries, Cash rewards, Commendation Letters, and Appreciation for my exemplary
work in detecting and defusing unexploded bombs. Notably, the memory of
diffusing a live bomb during the Macca Masjid bomb explosion, thereby saving
the lives of 500 Namazies, stands as a testament to my unwavering commitment to
public safety.
Sharing Knowledge through Writing:
Fueling
my passion for knowledge dissemination, I have authored 108 articles on
Forensic Science in SURAKSHA, a renowned Telugu journal in Telangana and Andhra
Pradesh. These articles delve into scientific crime scene analysis and
investigation techniques, aiming to enlighten and empower readers. Furthermore,
I have contributed eight research articles to national and international
journals, covering diverse subjects in chemistry and psychology.
Continuous Learning and Expertise:
Throughout
my career, I have embraced opportunities for professional growth and
specialization. Notably, I received specialized training in Lie Detection from
the CBI in New Delhi, equipping me with invaluable expertise in the field.
Additionally, I underwent training in ERDL (Pune), NSG (Manesar), and BPR&D
on IEDs and Landmine Explosives, further enhancing my skill set and knowledge.
A Legacy of Impact:
From
2011 to 2019, I had the honor of serving as a Faculty member at the RBVRR
Telangana State Police Academy, where I contributed to the development of
aspiring law enforcement professionals. Presently, as the Joint Director at the
AP Forensic Science Laboratory, I am proud to continue my journey.
